Finally legal

Got the '37 Ford P'up titled and registered today with an assigned state VIN, as a '37 pickup.

They always look at you funny when you tell them there is no VIN....

I had the foresight NOT to install the AC compressor, as I thought they may want me to remove the AC comp bracket to look at the block pad on the SBC motor, even though i told them is was parts counter motor from 1976 with a CE number, they still wanted to see all of the pad, so i had to loosen the bracket and swing it out of the way.

I also took a bunch of printed pictures showing ugly start of truck, cab lift off frame, new frame on pallet, assembled new frame, cab drop, bed build and several other build pics showing progress until finished, to prove the truck didn't magically appear in finished condition with no VIN.

The tech wanted to know why my 327 motor stamp pad had EAT ME stamped on it. I said the motor used to be in my '61 Corvette, and I got tired of people sneaking glances at the stamp pad with their little numbers books trying to see if it was an original block or not.

I like your "Eat Me".

Years ago I was at the James Dean Run I think in Gas City Indiana. Was admiring a beautiful 51 Chevy custom. When I was looking at the rear of the car I noticed some very small printing on the splash apron. When I bent down close enough to read it this is what I saw. "If you are reading this, you are one nit picky s o b." Sometimes you just get caught.....
