god what a pita! finally got my crank spec'd out with a real mic and it turns out it doesnt need to be turned so i ordered all the junk i need from
www.northerautoparts.com with the deluxe rebuild kit at $150 plus extras and a mallory hei for about $480 incl 2 day air. felpro gasket upgrade, true roller chain upgrade, hypereutectic upgrade w/flattops, some other crap.
got to get my heads 487's w/ Z-28 springs back and get my block painted. will get some pics in my project acct. soon
anybody want to recommend a good paint to paint a block yellow? i usually use Fuller oil based enamal and it's great but dont have a fuller store around here. have sherwin williams tho. gonna try that. just had my headers sandblasted by the painter-boss, painted them with black John deere muffler paint.
