Finally saw the new Camaro and Challenger

Went to the Texas State Fair today and got a very close look at the new Camaro and the new Challenger. All I can say is Chevy you blew it . The Dodge Challenger however is a absolute gem, and that is from a dedicated Chevy freak. IMO the new Camaro is flat fugly.

I've seen a couple new Challengers on the road. The first was an orange one from a distance and the other was a silver SRT8 with black stripes that I passed on the freeway. It was a sharp looking car.

I've seen three new Challengers in the last few days, sure are pretty.

Haven't seen any of the new Camaros but I've been seeing the prototype since I was in High School...(sheesh get it out already that was over 20 years ago!).

It looks old to me and a poor rehash of the 69 model of that body style. I always preferred the 67 model, maybe thats why I don't like it.

Maybe they should have done a 1970 model instead, it might translate better into a modern body style...certainly has more curves.

Oh yea, bring back the 402 BBC but this time in aluminum with double overhead cams and four valves! Kinda sad when the new retro cars weigh more than the old ones and can't beat a Suburu WRX in a straight line

Oh well, strip the sound deadener out of it and you can probably drop 1000 pds!

Ha-ha!

Ha-ha!
You must be joking, it looks NOTHING like a 69 Camaro. To me it looks more like a Cadillac CTS than an early Camaro.

Oh but the LS3 in the SS is rated at *only* 422 horsepower. What a slug.

The Challenger looks very much like the car it was designed to emulate, and simply beautiful. The Camaro is fugly, imo.

My wife loves the car, I do not care for it. Its getting old looking at pictures and hearing about the car but not being able to actually drive or see it in person

GM has let everybody down on the new Camaro, taking too long to produce it and trying to compare it to the 69. I think GM should of not compared it to any of the other body styles.

The goal of the big three with these cars, Mustang, Challenger and Camaro was to retro style them to look back on the late sixties early seventies. Ford did a great job, Dodge did a superb job, Chevy blew it. Chevy needs to ditch the current crop of designers who relish the slant eyed look. All the GM cars have the same radical angled front end look. I saw some early design drawings of the new Camaro and I was thrilled, then I saw this fugly thing and I was major let down. I guess time will tell how people accept it, but I can tell you this there were a ton of people looking at the Challenger and not that many looking at the Camaro.
