Finding a Chrysler engine and transmission for a"48" Plymouth Business Coupe?

Can anyone out there give me some advice or suggestions on the best Chrysler V8 engine,
transmission,and rearend that could be dropped in
my "48"Plym.Coupe using the original frame and suspension system.Please keep in mind,I'm on a working mans budget looking for the simplest and best bang for the buck.
What would be a good choice in a Chysler or Plym.
4 or 5 spd.trans.and what axle is the right length.
