I installed a trans am sub frame onto a 49 willys pick-up.Worked out great, but here is the problem.I installed the front coils out of a V-6 Camaro. But there to stiff. What I need is softer springs, but how does one figure outhow soft of springs to go with Thanks

you need to know how much weight is on each wheel then you can do the math or easier call a spring co or coil over shock co. Carrara - aldan- monroe etc. tell them what you have and they can recommend a spring.

If you want to keep the trans am suspension fairly stock try giving Eaton Detroit Spring a call and give them all the info you have. They can wind up some coils that'll give you the ride you want for about the price of one coilover shock.

NAPA has a catalog that gives specs on auto coil springs. Look for ones that have the same od & ride ht as yours. Chose by finding ones from the above catagory that are from a similiar wt car.....Don
