Smile finned buick aluminum drums

what year buicks did the finned aluminum drums come off of also are they the front drums or back drums and what is the going price on these.

78 to 82 g bodies had rear alum drums.

Here is an old thread discussing this topic on this board.

The desirable drums are from a '54? - '62 Buick front end. They come with a steel hub riveted on that must be removed.

I have a couple of articles, one on installing them on early ford Front spindles and one on installing them, using '52 - '57 Buick backing plates, on an early Olds rear end. Send me your email address and I will send a scan of the articles.

Here is a single wide spaced finned drum on ebaY going for $100.

Here are ~'63-'70 fine finned drums on ebaY. They aren't nearly as expensive as the earlier more desirable wide spaced finned ones.

IF you can find them anymore, most were cast iron though.

Yep, My 1960 Buicks both have them, they are on the front only
