Firebird hood hinge interchange

Well, I went to bolt my hood on today and it looks like the hinges that came with the car are not actually for the car since the back of the hood sits high when it is closed. Are there any other cars with hinges that will interchange with a 68 Firebird so that I can broaden my search and hopefully find a set?

Thanks,

Josh

I just put and after market hood on 68 firebird. to get the back of the hood down, loosen the bolts that hold the hinge to the fender then open the hood all the way .the hinge will rotate up causing the hood to sit down more in the back.the hinges are most likely ok they need adjustmens. and as you get the hood down you will have to loosen the bolts that go from the hinges to the hood to move it fore and aft.

I'll give it a try, I did not put too much effort into it because the holes looked bastardized enough I figured they were from a different car with a different hinge. Thank you.

It looks like you saved me $80. Thank you.

Still fine tuning though.
