fired up and runs

I fired up my 1951 Ford up for the first time tonight.Did not start at first and it was a simple fix.One of my buddies put the plugwires in the wrong spots and forgot to install the rotor.Fixing that, it start up and ran good for the first time.I did get some chewing out from a couple of my friends seeing a 350 Chevy in it,a ZZ4 350 crate engine and I admit I am happy with the work I done to it in my new workshop.Hopefully to drive it for the first time next month.Goes to the exhaust shop to have an exhaust made tommorrow although I did buy a couple Flowmaster mufflers.Even ran the transmission,a 700R4 through the gears and shifts great. My father was over and was impressed. My son Alexander said bravo.I am having the interior work done by a pro,my father's longtime friend Dennis which will be done next week.Everything else is done except the interior and exhaust.

Way to go , and you need some new friends that won't chew you out for having a GM 350 in your car. When Centerline sees this he will complain about the "cookie cutter" SBC and insist you should have installed a Hemi.

For the die hard FinaF crowd, just answer with "You mean my Improved Ford". Having done the Ford in a 51 Ford and a SBC in a 49 Ford, there is no doubt in my mind which makes the better conversion and easier on the wallet or purse.

I am a Chevy fanatic and I know I will tick off Ford guys.I know parts for a sbc are dirt cheap to buy and a sbc is also dirt cheap to build too.I am 100% satisfied with the exhaust work done, sounds great. Now at my father's friend Dennis's shop and the interior work is going to start on Monday.Going to be Red and White, the paint color is a dark red Ford color.
