First 1976 Stingray Corvette

Just purchased a 76' Corvette from and older fellow who took little care of car. I worked in a body shop as a kid and have no formal mechanical traing with excetion of trial and error over 20 years. I have purchased the shop mamual on line and I am ready to get started. Any advise or guidence would be great!
