First carb rebuild Please help with Vac Leak
Hello Everyone,
My 66 Satellite was starting to run poorly so I though I would rebuild the 2bbl Stromberg WW. The rebuild seemed straight forward but I couldn't get it to run right (ruff idle will barley drive). After playing with the only two adjustments (accelerator pump and float level) I discovered I have massive vacuum leaks. There is only one hose coming off the carb for advance and that was replaced. If I take starting fluid and just lightly spray on the body of the carb the rpm's surge and if I close the choke it runs better. I didn't use and gasket sealers during assembly because it doesn't seem like a good idea but how do I get rid of these leaks. It didn't run THIS bad before I touched it. Thanks for any tips.

take it apart and clean any and all gasket material off the flanges under the carb, and wherever the carb comes apart, and put on new gaskets.

"always check simple first"
retorque the carb mount bolts to the correct ft/lbs... a first motor heat cycle hot to cold can cause a new base gasket leak...
