Took the bug for it's first spin tonight! There are four very short videos my friend took on his camera phone which cam out decent. Got some bugs worked out of the carb and all the leaks taken care of.

Let me try them again. It could be cause I just uploaded them recently. You can also type in "V8 Super Beetle Drive" in the YouTube search.

Looks great, sounds great, but it looks like you built it for short people like me. You need to move the seat back.

I did build it for short people. I'm 6'1" short.

The seat is as far back as it will go. I placed the seat where I did for safety reasons. I used a S10 extended cab long bed frame. After shortening it the frame kick up was right past the b pillar. So if I were to move the cage / seat back, it would put my head into the roof of the car.

That's the only thing I wish was different about this build. More leg room and foot room. Oh well, it's not a cross country cruiser.

I have been following your build. Reminded me of the off road bugs and dune buggies we use to build Very nice.
