At first start my motor runs great (1968 Corvette 327 motor), at first start, to

My car was running great, then one day it wouldn't start at all. I starting checking it over (Multimeter test etc.), spark tests, I replaced the spark plugs and wires, the ignition coil and replaced the gas filter.I started the car it ran great. I shut it down and re-started the motor 3x, each time it ran great. Then the last time on the 3rd. try, it ran fine then it started to run rough and progressively gets worse until it dies on it own and won't start at all. Starter turns but nothing.

I'm banging head head against the wall here.

Thanks Guys, all impute is greatly appreciated!!

Steve

When it wont start you need to check for fuel and spark to see which is missing. Then troubleshoot from there. Throwing parts at it is not the answer

The part I replaced all were test light or not at all...

As I checked from plug spark, coil spark (I replaced what seemed to be the logical problems) gas filter was very clog up. I replaced these parts as I went. When testing, each showed they were not up to speed or negative results.

That's why I'm stuck. where to I go from there?

Have you checked the carb and fuel system for any leaks or rotted lines? After it stalls and wont restart, are the plugs dry or fouled?

That still leave the question of which is missing- fuel or spark. If you still have points, check the resistance across them. Is the condenser failing? Is the coil correct for the application? Is the carb starving the engine (bad fuel pump fort instance) or flooding it (too much fuel pressure, stuck needle/seat or float sinking, etc.)?

my guess is wrong plugs or bad gas...How old is the gas? Has the car been sitting for a long time? Check the points (if you have them) for good spark transfer and check the coil (Maybe weak spark),
