If you are using any of the common stock diameter high perf valve springs you remove the inner damper
to go on a stock vortec head. EG lunati 73943. Some people use the GM LS-6 springs and comp 787-16 retainers on these heads.
With this 1103 camshaft the stock GM vortec head springs are fine. You need nto get all carried away
with valve spring pressure at all for this mild cam. You do not need to rev the **** out of the combo with this cam. 5000-5500 rpm is plenty. Its all about torque.
