First time project

I recently started my first project. 1965 GMC side step short bed, all original at this time. I bought the engine and trans out of a wrecked '95 Caprice police cruiser complete with fuel injection. So my first step of the project will be to strip out the original 6 and install the LT1 and transmission. This seems to be as easy as replacing the motor mounts and adding a transmission cross bar with mounts. I am not sure yet if I can use the original trans mount from the 95 caprice? I am also keeping the engine fuel injection system which allows me to use the original 95 wiring harness, small confusion factor?
Of course I also have to swap out the front end to add power steering, disk brakes will be added, which will also mean new wheels and tires.
I have already figured out that this project is going to nickel dime me at every corner.
This is going to be my after work summertime project with hopes of completion in a couple of months. The body work and paint will happen next spring.
I look forward to sharing knowledge and swapping stories on the boards.

Yes, keep us posted. My dad had a 67 I would have loved to have right now. Thought it was a chev C10 with the C/S option.

1995 Police LT1 350? Probably a good choice. From what I have read about their engines, they are slightly higher hp output.

I'm a newbie too. Good luck!
