I have never used that product, but I do know that epoxy's in general are a pain to sand. Epoxy is good as a sealer and direct to metal. But I prefer to use a 2K urethane primer for bodywork/blocking. There are a few epoxy's out there now that claim to be sandable but I have never tried them. I"m assuming thats what this 5 star product is. Now that I think about it I used some SEM Metal Lock primer that was Direct to metal. and it may have been an epoxy, it sanded ok if I remember right.
Thats what I thought (epoxies are hard to sand) until I found SPI .I 'm not using ANY 2k (urathane primer) because SPI epoxy also builds along with exellent sanding....
When an epoxy balls up and gums the paper its most likely not completely cured OR it wasnt properly mixed to the right ratio....I've had epoxy take a week to cure sometimesbut it was really piled on there
