Fix a picture
I was wondering if anyone with photoshop can do a few modifications to some pics I have.
In '99 I built a fiberglass streamliner body for a guy. (stations, foam, fiberglass, the kind of stuff I write about in the body forum). I took a bunch of 35mm pics throughout the process. Towards the end of the process my friend got a digital camera. He started to take pics and I stopped. He lost ALL of the pics of the car at it's completion. So I have no pics of the assembled body. I remain in contact with the owner, who sent me some pics of the car as it sat on the stands that I made and still had the jacks that I'd made attached to it. ( the jacks are lifting dollies that let you move the car easily . the turning radius on a 27' car is almost non existant.) I have asked him a few times for a better picture(s), but as yet. I haven't seen any. So, if someone could blot out the jacks that are obscuring the side of the car I would really appreciate it. I have tried to do it in my image programs, but mess it all up as the colors don't match and I have no finesse. I don't want a drawing made of the car, and my friend Malc doesn't do this type of stuff anyway. (his imaging software is designed for a different purpose) Here is one pic that I'd like to have fixed. A little better composition would have been nice, but oh well. Bigger pics are in my gallery. I think the car may have been sold, I don't know if I can find the new owner. Thanks for looking, Mikey EDIT: As I was posting this malc sent me a beautiful line drawing of the car. I said I didn't want a drawing, but seeing the lines of the car again brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Malc. I'll put that pic up in my gallery also when I can make it a bit smaller.

WOW, thank you FordMan1951.
That is exactly what I was hoping for. I do appreciate it. Soon I will scan the process pics I took and show what it takes to build something like that. Thank you, mikey

Thanks Signshop, On the salt is where it belongs. I'm going to make some blow ups of all 3 of those pics for my office. I may get to see it at Bville in real life too, I recently got an Email from the guy I built the body for and he did not sell the car, and he asked if I'd like to crew. Road trip later, mikey

I'm no artist. Attached is my attempt, using GIMP and essentially the same technique as FordMan1951 -- clone areas near the jacks, then smudge. Don't know if you wanted it, but I cleaned up some of the streaky and mottled looking places.

Thank you Grouch. That is awesome. It looks very natural the way you did it. Some of those smudges you cleaned up were from the car being stored outside, and some were shadows. I like the effect you used.
Later, Mikey
