Question flame design on 63 nova

Does anyone have some good templates or pictures of designs of a cool flame job for a four door black 63 nova white, yellow orange color combination? I want to stop them about the middle of the hood but am having trouble coming up with an easy but still neat design for it any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was at a car show today and noticed that some of the newer flame jobs are adding barbs or hooks at the tips of the flames. This may be an old idea that is coming back around, I don't know. But, it looks COOL to me!

When I did my S-10 flames, I did probably a hundred scetches untill I could draw it from memory and it looked like I thought it needed to. I would draw one, find what did not look right, and redraw it with small changes.

If I were you I would just start sketching. You will find the right pattern if you do it enough times. Then laying them out is easy cause you can see what it needs to look like.
