Post flaming carb help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i just rebuilt my engine and it will try to start,but ill get flames out my carb. the motor is a 305 in a 1978 monte carlo. i have rebuilt many motors and never had this problem. everything is stock except i put a performance cam in it. nothing crazy though. just 194/204@.50. i keep thinking about the timing marks are not right or i got it 180 off. can somebody please help.

I'd go with the 180 off, pull the valve cover on #1 and when both valves are closed on top dead check where your rotor is and go from there. Best of luck.

Ya may not even be 180 out. Just a tooth or two will do it, or a couple crossed wires or forgetting where number one is or the moon is full.


Sometime when you are really bored, ask about the fire plumb over the roof of a '37 Vicky at two in the monrning.
