I was wanting to switch my cam over to a roller cam. The problem I am having is that every roller cam I look up makes power in the 2800 to 7000 range. I'm wanting the roller cam because of the steaper ramps on the lobes and the fact that roller means less friction. I'm not wanting 2800-7000 though. I'm wanting something that is still very streetable. around the 1000-6000 range is where I'm looking to make power.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Roller cams are just like flat tappets in that you can find whatever grind you need. Just get one rated for what you want. They are out there. Every company out there has plenty of them, you just have to ask the techs.
The roller cam will be way more streetable than a flat tappet.
If your 350 block is an older block, you will need to get the right vertical locking roller lifters for it. , or do like a friend of mine did,he went to a junk yard and found a newer 350 block that came with a roller cam ,and took what he needed off that block and had the machine shop fit it to his block... it saved him some money.. I would have went that way if i new about that. but i went ahead and bought everything..

i just did that same exact same thing-going over to a roller---just look at the comparison charts-most cam compines have...my new roller-is almost- exact to my street rv-towing cam---i know-lunatti has this chart on holleys web site--give it a look at and you atleast beable to find what you need-and then some...

The lift is too low for the duration. Get one with more lift with around the same duration. That is too close to flat tappet specs. Take advantage of the fact that it is a roller. Go with a faster ramp.
Is that a 115o lobe sep?
You probably want a 112o.
do you have a stock bottom in that thing? Hope not, its going to grenade on you at 7k for sure. Also, you might want to scale back your original cam choice just a bit, considering your intake runs out of gas at 6500. Lastly, I would go with a flat cam, unless you really need the extra power and have the extra 600 bucks for it.

I was wanting to keep the power band in the 1000 to 6000 rpm range, these are more of the 2000 to 6500 range.

I would try and find somethin with 215o to 220o of intake duration @.050. See if you can get over .520" lift. Again, 112o lobe sep. should be good.
those were the three hydraulic rollers in a row. I would probably have to go with a custom ground cam. Out of those 3 which would you say?
your stock bottom end redline is about 5500 RPM, with an OCCASIONAL 6000 R's maybe. Don't run it any harder than that, it will let go any higher. WHy get a cam that makes power till 6500 R's when you don't want to push it higher than 6k? A comps 274 is as much as I'd run practically. If you want to take a step away from practical just for the sake of having a decent cam, a 280 magnum would work.
Out of those the first one sounded the best. Keep looking there are more grinds and more companies to get them from out there. A cam is a big decision. It isn't easy to quickly change out like a carb would be. Take your time and research and read. Call the techs at the cam companies also. Some are helpful and some aren't, but overall you will get closer to making an educated decision.

270 - 276 duration
218 - 224 duration at .050
.495 - .502 lift
276 - 282 duration
224 - 230 duration at .050
.502 - .510 lift

I think the first of the comp may be good.
I'd have to see the rest of the specs for those two. What do they recommend as far as compression, gear, or stall?
I'd say off hand the first one might be better. I'm split between the two. If the second one had a 112o or higher lobe sep., it would be best.
