Flathead to C4
I have a 49 Shoebox and am considering converting from the three on a tree to a C4 using a Flat-o-Matic kit. I know that Flatattack and Speedway both make kits too. I have heard the Speedway is problematic because of the fit. From the posts I have read, the Flat-o-Matic seems the easiest way to go.
I was curious if anyone that did this conversion had any regrets. What C4 tranny would you recommend? I am looking for an aftermarket rather than a junkyard piece. Also, for those of you who did this conversion did you replace the steering column? I would rather have a automatic column shifter than cutting up the floorboard. Thanks. earle |

1970 to 1977 C-4 would be a better choice...
the fellows I;ve dealt with liked the Flat O matic setup.
