Question Flathead crankcase ventilation

Hi, I would like to install a triple carb 59-ab intake on a 8-ba merc engine. My question is what do I need to do for crankcase ventilation? Thanks

Smile GOOD QUESTION!

As the engine has no rocker or valley cover, I would imagine that you would have to drill an area of the manifold that covers the lifter valley for ventilation and either source the vacuum signal from the center carb (inlet on carb or spacer) or drill a hole and tap it near the center plenum.

Fascinating. I won't to hear what the FLATHEAD FREAKS have to say about this...

The oil fill tube should have a breather cap on it. There may also be a vent tube at the rear of the intake where the fuel pump is located.

No drilling is required to vent the crankcase.
