Flathead trans ?
Hello all, does anyone know if a '49 Ford flathead "4-speed" will bolt to a 59AB in my '46 w/the integrated bellhousing? Found one cheap, I know there is probably a granny 1st gear but i want to ditch the tourque tube crap. Or does someone know of an adaptor kit or something to hang a t5 behind it?

There are probably more flathead experts on the hamb site, My brother built quite a few flatheads back in the day. I think what he used to do was look for the merc bellhousing If i remember right there was a factory short belhousing to go from the engine that had the longer bell as part of the block to the trans with no bell as part of the trans case . There are more aftermarket. flathead parts available today than 50 years ago. I had a friend that used an S 10 5 speed behind his scott blower equipped 36. flathead.
