flatz paint from tcp

has anyone tried this flatz paint from tcp. i'm building a 66 galaxie fastback that i want to do like we did in the 50s. i've total de chromed the body electric doors trunk the works.it's in primer now & i want to paint it that saten sheen we used to do back then. some call it hot rod flat. please dont tell me to buy ppg or dupont & have them put a flat in it! i dont want a 500 dollar a gallon paint !!!!! in the good old days we used to just use black primer lac of course. thanks for your input jim PS don't tear me up like you did the guy with the dupi-color !!!!!!!!!!

best is black epoxy although you get no uv protection just like black lacquer primer was back then. after epoxy you could use any cheaper ss with a flatener.

I sprayed my interior and engine pieces with the HRFlatz black. It really flows out nice and cures rock hard. After the 7 day full-cure, I removed some "misapplied" silver enamel with lacquer thinner and it never touched the Flatz... Someone on here painted an early 'Stang with the Daytona Blue metallic and it looked pretty good.

Hot Rod Flatz from TCP Global

I have used Hot Rod Flatz. I think it is pre-flattened Omni BC/CC paint. Which is fine with me. It works well. Flows very well. I shot a gas tank with steel blue (color) and the semi-gloss.

TCP Global did a good job at getting me my paint. I have pictures in this other post of the work that I have done with TCP Global Products.
