flex plate question.
at present I have a 14"/168 flex plate on my 307 sbc motor about 1972 motor. the 283 starter has straight accross patern and does not fit the flexplate. can I just put a differant started to get this motor started, I only noticed a straight accross pattern on the motor. Will all the 350 motor and 307 have a bolt pattern for both starters, if not is there a started for straight accross pattern and for the 168 tooth flex plate, or will I have to change out the flexplate to a 153 tooth pattern to work thanks Ed
