Flexikool hose problem

Try to use the Flexikool radiator hose on my T bucket. All goes well until I try to attach to the water pump (stock Chevrolet) Their clamp will not open quite far enough to get it onto the water pump. Any thoughts or suggestion are appreciated.

Thanks
