Flexplate run out

On a 350 Chevy should the flexplate have any run out, slight wobble. I was looking for a leak with the engine running and noticed that the flexplate had a little run out when viewed from the side.

It definitely shouldn't wobble, that's a good indication of a warped flexplate, or something else not quite trued up. About how much does it move side to side?

Can you hear your starter sound changing as it cranks?.....If not, I wouldnt worry about it.

Poncho is right....if it does not make any unusual sound when you start your engine and you do not have a vibration while running.......I would not worry about it.

Starter sounds OK. Doesn't seem to shake when driving. But the car is a T-Bucket so it doesn't exactly ride like a Rolls-Royce.

Thanks,

Bill
