I've got a crapsman aluminum low profile jack but I use some 4"x6"x1.5" rubber blocks that came with my Bendpak between my jack pad and the crossmember or whatever point I am lifting at. It keeps it pretty stable. Just look for some flat heavy duty rubber blocks. Grainger probably has them.
