Floor protection

My buddy is in the middle of redoing an 84 volkswagon rabbit. I will be painting it this summer. right now it is just a shell. No interior etc. well he is wondering what he could spray down on the floor pans from preventing rust, water etc. The floor pans are in great shape so he wants to keep them that way. So if anyone has an info would be great.

The factory just paints them. I use rock guard, then paint. The cheaper rock guard cannot be painted. Check can to make sure the product you buy can be painted. I had a fly by night body shop put the wrong stuff on my rockers. The paint keeps peeling off my car.

How about that POR 15 stuff, or is that only for after rust starts? Never used it but heard it is great.

Spray with bed liner material. Not only protects, but acts as a sound deadener.
