Flowtech header question

So I bought these Flowtech headers ( http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BIG-31500FLT/ ) to replace my old rusted and cracked headers I have now. Even bought new 3" stainless steel pipe and new stainless steel Thrush glasspacks.

Says 3" collector on the specs but the damn collector attachment it came with is too small for the 3" pipe I bought...it looks to be 2 1/2". Why wouldn't they say that anywhere on the damn page?

Anyways now I need to get replacement reducers right? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-G4752/ Will these work for my setup? It doesn't say if they are ID or OD but I would hope they are ID to fit the 3" OD pipe.

Those are probably 3" ID, & are made to be butt welded to your 3" pipe.
You can cut the Collector flange off the Headers and use Band clamps to connect to your 3" pipe also.

These Header Buddies are nice also, no gaskets.

I've said it 100 times now - never trust Summits web site for all the info, much is not there and there are lots of typo's. Go to the original manufacturer for info, then order from Summit if you like.

Your headers do have a 3" collector, the collector is the area where the 4 primary pipes are joined to one pipe. Then they have a 3" to 2-1/2" street hook-up "reducer" as standard (just like virtually all headers do), if you wanted 3" street hook-up you would have to order it seperate, in the footnotes on Flowtechs web site.

You really don't need a hook-up kit, just weld the 3-bolt ring supplied (with the 3" to 2-1/2" reducer you don't need) right to the end of your new 3" pipe, comes out a lot cleaner than clamping a pipe to a short hook-up pipe.
