fluid fill plug on my differential is frozen.. ideas?

The fluid fill plug on my differential is frozen in the housing. The 3/8" drive inside square corners are completely rounded out. I just rebuilt the differential and the interior is dry except for the assembly lube. Is there an easy way to get this thing out? This must have happened to a few other list members, what did you have to do?

A friend of mine, JB welded some vise grips to his plug and muscled it out with allot of uummph and leverage, I assume you are trashing the plug and have a set of vise grips that dont work quite too well anymore.

Take a old ratty 3/8 drive extension ... weld it to the plug.

The heat will help ... and then you also have something to put a pull bar to ...
I have used some Kroil oil also.

The best penetrating fluid I have ever used.
