Fluid tip size

I've been using a 0.9mm fluid tip for about 10 years now, and just plain Love it. It puts plenty of material on, and atomizes it nicely, so I get a very slick job.

Folks seem to be very surprized that I use such a small tip. I figure it to be a good all around tip size for base, clear, and single stage. I tried a larger tip (1.0), and found that It was just too much, and had to throttle it back so far That It didn't seem to have any "trigger" at all.

Just wondering why, people seem to think a 0.9mm fluid nozzle is too small.

The gun is pressurized, and uses about 8-10 psi. to create the fan. Best gun I've ever used.
If I was to use a 1.3mm/1.4mm I'd ruin a lot of paintjobs before I could get used to it.

If the gun is pressurized, that changes the rules and a smaller tip does the job.

I have shot only one time with a pressure pot and as I remember it had a much smaller tip.

A .9 on a gravity gun would be fine for small parts, if you were spraying a complete you would be in trouble.
