Post FMX or C6

I'm wondering how I can tell weather my tranny is a c6 or an FMX.

The easiest way is to look at the tranny, if it is a one piece aluminum case it is a C6, if it has a separate bellhousing of aluminum with a cast iron main case it is the FMX (after '66 prior to that it is a cast iron cruiso, valve bodies being the main difference) if it has a separate bellhousing and both the case and bellhousing are aluminum you most likely have a C4.
