Those are kits that you can buy ... I'm not sure where, because I prefer making original designs and, also, they're like $250 per panel.

that foam is called landau foam. it's more rigid than normal foam so it works good for making reveals (raised flames, patterns, etc...). it's extremely hard to find though. i couldn't find it at any local fabric or upholstery stores. try doing a lookup on the internet. if you can't find it you can use a thin piece of wood - 1/8" or so. wood isn't as flexible but will work on door panels. i'm not an expert but i'm making some panels right now for my 84 trans am. if you need help let me know.

Closed cell foam, or Landau foam (got the name from Landau tops) is very easy to find in my area. I have never heard of a upholstery shop that wouldnt have 1/4" closed cell foam around, or be able to call any of their suppliers and order some. But yes, that is what can be used to make raised patterns in panels

I was just curious, do you "carve" your pattern that you want into the foam? And after that, how do you attach the material that you want to use to it? Do you just use some type of spray adhesive?

just cut the design out with an X-acto knife. yes, double contact spray adhesive is used.

Foam

Look here http://www.globallayer.com/appserve...in.aspx?oii=226

They have foam

Sorry I gave you the wrong address for the foam. Here it is : http://www.keystonbros.com/markets.html

Good Luck.

I think if you go here or to a local upolstery shop in your area should will find it.

When you do cut it to your design do so on a slight angle so the material you cover it with will sit better.

Door Panels

What you need for your kick panels is waterproof panel board.....I have it in 2 x 4 sheets....also I have closed cell foam.... yes I do this for a living.......visit my site *** There is a lot of ways to do flames....you could screen them on and sew around the flames....the easy way....you could cut out your own flames out of red and orange glue them together with vinyl glue and sew them on your underware if you want to ......You could cut out foam in the shape of flames and sew fabric on top......you could go to walmart and get that cheap fabric they have with the flames and use that as a pattern ect.......

i CARRY IT ....How big a piece do you need""??? see my web site ***

digging up old posts to promote your site, I see.... Thats good and all, but I don't think that will fly to well with the folks on the board. They like to call it "Advertising"
