Folding bench seat for AD Chevy truck

Anybody have pictures that show brackets to make the original bench seat fold forward to access the area behind the seat. I would rather learn from others than to expierement on my own. I only have 1 seat to practice with. Thanks.

What seat do you have now? Is it the original to the truck? What year is the truck?

No one lives forever, the trick is creating something that will.

I saw some pics of the folding bench on Stovebolt -- Old GM - GMC - Chevy Trucks!. The guy just cut the back down low, welded on hinges, and used a home depot gate latch to secure it. Good idea, functional. Would probably like to make it a little cleaner install than he did, but otherwise, was pretty nifty. I don't think I saved the pictures.

Just talked to my buddy about his truck. He says his seat came from a Dodge Dakota but didn't remember what year it was from.

There are two versions... one is straight across for trucks with a column shift . The other has a cutout for the floor shift.

He said it was a very simple swap. No problems at all.

Now you have another option for your project.
