Exclamation Forced Motor Swap

Well. I have had the motor looked at and am finding that it is too far gone to rebuild on my 1953 Lincoln. I have been told on another forum that a Chevy 350 would bolt to the existing motor mount locations that are spaced 16" across.
If this is so, will my original 4speed Hydromatic transmission mount to the new 350? I would like to keep that transmission if I can. If not, what suggestions does anyone have.

NO,NO,NO!! A small block will go in there but everything else has to leave. By the time you find and buy adapters for this (if they exist) the project will have been long shelved.
Either way you are going to have to spend some money, as you have found out old engine parts are Spendy and rare. Custom adapters are even worse.
