In the 1980 Ford thunderbird 302, does anyone know what the crank, rods, and pistons were made out of (cast, mildly forged, forged...)? Also, does anyone know anything about the stock heads that came with them, such as the chamber size and how big the exhaust outlet is? Any response would be helpful, thanks.
All 302's except the Boss had cast cranks, and forged rods, the Boss and Hi-Po 289 had 3/8 rod bolts instead of the regular 5/16. Your pistons are cast. Be sure that it's a 302,they also made a 255 the same year, easily determined by the small oval intake ports and hollow crank.
