More questions here for the 9er: which models had the large bearings and the 31spline axles? I have been told that some Camper Special Ford trucks and then some Mustangs had them. Any suggestions would help since that is the axle I need.

In my limited experience, I've found it almost impossible to predict which Ford rear end might be under a particular car or truck model. Throughout the years, there was an awful of of "use whatever we've got left" mentality applied at the Ford assembly plants. Granted, there are some makes/models where it is "more likely" to find certain rear ends, but you almost need to peek under every single one of them because they just might have exactly what you are looking for. Or in the alternative, the rear end you were expecting to see just might NOT be the one you find. That is why the site cobalt provided is so important...so you can make a quick visual ID as you are inspecting potential donors.

1974 to 1986 Ford F150 and E150 had big Brg and 31 spline axles.
