Appreciate input on this pattern. Does not look far off to me.

Very budget gears. Excel brand. 4.86 - 1 . Likely they will be noisy , but with open headers and my deafness,, they may sound fine. LOL

yellow grease applied. Gears spun many times via the axle installed into the spool. Pattern looks very consistent around whole ring gear

All new parts. Yukon center section and pinion support (daytona size bearing)... .020 shim under the pinion support as a starting place

With my shim selection, I was able to add .003 to the pinion support. Move the pinion out slightly.

My first shim was actually .022 thick. I am now at .025. Back lash is same about .009 , the ring gear is marked .010 for back lash

The drive side on ring gear looks ok.

Took couple days to get back to this.

Unit spins spins well. Smoothly, no jam ups, no tight spots:

Now at .028 shims on the pinion support, which is + .003 from last check

Holding fixture. Axle in place ... I am spinning the ring gear with the axle

thanks.

I set the back lash at .006 ... pattern loks the same with .025 or the .028 shim.

I dont know if I hit the sweet spot on these gears. Things do not go this smoothly for me too often.

It will be a few months before the car runs.
