I have seen specifications on small block chevy engines, blocks, heads, Etc. as to what serial No. went where. What I am looking for is an Einstien on ford 9" rear ends. In particular I want to know what cars came with what width housings. There are three different axle flange types. Which cars, i.e. models and years were they. Which rear ends had the 28 spline and which the 31. Any other general information would be appreciated.

57 to 84 half ton pickups, early mustangs(mach I's and a few others), 77-79 linclon mark V, and a few others. I will definately not swear on this, but it is close. You can tell the 31 from 28 splines by whether the hub center is flat or dished out. The 31 should be flat, and 28 dished. I would find any easy one to check, and I am sure that there are exceptions like almost any manufacturors part. Hope this helps even though I am no einstien.
