Ford 9" "posi" info and ideas...

Hi All, I'm buildin' a '34 Ford coupe street hot rod with a 327 Chevy,Richmond 5 speed, 9' with 3.00 gears,Radir or Coker vintage lookin' slicks. I'm thinkin' that a Ford TracLoc is too weak and a Detriot locker clicks and bangs too much. I'm leanin' towards a (Richmond) PowerTrax or a (TracTech) Tru Trac. Any thoughts would be great. Thanks ahead of time,Smokey

I have the Detroit Locker under my 32.

You can hear it in my car, but it is a open car. In a closed car, the noise is almost undetectable.

I've been using a powertrax in my 9" for over a year now and would recomend it to anyone. It is rarely noisy and acts like a spool when I hit the gas.

If you already have the traction loc, it should hold up fine under that light car. I ran one at the strip for many years behind a 428CJ in a '69 Mach I. It wouldn't hurt to inspect it and change the plates if needed. If you feel the need to replace it, I've installed a couple of Auburn units that worked really well too.
