Post Ford 9" rear end vs stock 89 chevy truck rear end

This is regarding my 89 chevy 1/2 ton pickup which I am going to be customizing with alot of street rod styling.
Ive been reading alot of street rod mags and stuff so Ive been thinking about adding a Ford 9" rear end to my truck. My 89's rear end needs disc brakes and posi anyways so I am wondering how hard it would be to install a Ford 9" rear end? I know where I can get at least one or two for next to nothing but I am not sure if it would be more practical to swap to Ford rear end in or just add discs and posi to my stock one?

thanks
Jim

If you don't intend to seriously drag race your truck keep the stocker and disc brake it.

I put 9" ford posi. with 373 gears !

Into a 1993 chev. P/U, I loved it as I had already chipped it electronically, would actually burn rubber at 60 MPH.
