Ford alternator wiring

This is my problem, I have a 69 Montego that has a 86 EFI 5.0, I am trying to wire the 5.0 alternator to the 69 harness which has a remote voltage reg. I have both complete cars harness's. The 86 alt. is G2. This has got to be very simple for most of you, but I do not want to cut and splice until I am sure of what I am doing. 3 weeks until Hot August Night, need to get It running. Thanks to all.
