ford aod

hi i have an aod in my 1989 f-150 (2) wheel truck thats shot. i also have a1989 bronco (fullsize) 4x4 with an aod. my question is obviouse, can i switch tail sections to use the 4x4 tranny in the 2 wheel drive truck. and if so, what is the convex prism shape in the center of my 4x4 tranny pan for. thanks, wayne

Ford AOD

No Wayne you won't be able to swap units,different output shafts on these units,unless you are capable of dismantling the units to swap shafts.

The 4x4 unit has a deep pan,different filter,no big deal if your swapping stuff around. Of course you can't use a 4x4 filter with a 2 wheel drive pan.
