Ford AOD trans...trying to gather some information
Ford mustang 1991 5.0
On the ford aod transmission, there is a cable called the ATV cable, the transmission to the throttle body. what exactly does it do? and an i bypass it or is it strictly needed? Im trying to figure out what to do. when driving the car it skips 3 gear it seems. i was told to get a brass fitting for this cable so that it holds better. well we did and it did not fit lol! was a little bit to round. this is really starting to get frustrating, i even called the ford people and they discontinued the part. |

'TV cable' is short for Throttle valve cable. Better hook it up or the AOD won't last long.
Go to an auto recycler and get you some parts. The TV follows the throttle at all times. A 1/1 ratio, meaning for every inch the throttle is pulled, the TV is pulled an equal amount. Lokar makes aftermarket stuff for this also. |
