Ford ATF
I have a mid-80's Ford AOD transmission (I don't know the exact year). I believe its from a Ranger (I was told that the truck AOD had more clutches) and I have it bolted to a 351C. What transmission fluid should I use with this transmission?

May i suggest a synthetic?? or at the least a mercon 5? is a bit cheaper! just a little fyi! the newer AOD`s require the mercon 5 !

The normal "Dexron/Mercon" you see for sale everywhere is what you need.

My '88 uses DexronIII/Mercon and it seems perfecty happy with it. Change it every 20-25,000 miles though.
