Hello guys I'm in process of finishing up a t-bucket project. Down to the gauges and need to know the drive gear tooth count on the output shaft of a 1979 ford c-4 tranny to get correct driven gear for the speedometer. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I would hate to remove the tailhousing to count them. THANKS

It's not the teeth on the tranny that you need it is the gear ratio in the rear. All Fords use the same speedo gears and are just colored different depending on what rear gear you are running. Most any factory manual can tell you which one to use...once again, based on the rear end gearing. Most charts also list what tire diameter is used and you might want to consider your tire height as well, although it has less impact than the gearing.
