Ford C-6 ID Tag #s

Been searching for a couple hrs. and can't find exactly what C-6 I have,top line #s on tag PGD N2 K31 Bottom row of #s D5UP NB 015895 anybody decode year, car ,and application it came from,Thanks Jack

No way to know exactly what the application was from the tag.

However, ASSUMING that is the original tag for that particular C6, it was designed to fit a 1975 Econoline, but was probably used in other vehicles and/or later years.

Thanks guys,as you can see,there's lots of PGD------s,but no N2 found on any of the charts,with D5 and the date code,I figured '75,just thought I could find out exactly what it came out of.

Well, if you get close, that should give you an idea.
In mine, I pulled a C6 out of a station wagon to use. I tore it all a part, beefed it up a little, and rebuilt it. Added a 2nd stage shift kit, and a stall converter to cushion the shift points a little while cruising. They are a pretty tough trans out of anything, if in good shape.
