Ford C4

I currently have a FMX transmission but plan on changing to a C4. I need to mock up the transmission crossmember. Can anyone tell me if the trans mounts are located the same between the FMX and the C4. Is it safe to mock up the crossmember using the FMX?

C4 and FMX are different. Get a local trans shop to lend you a mockup case. Even one that is cracked, broken or un-buildable will suit your needs. Be sure to match the bellhousing to your flywheel and get ready to change the slip yoke and drive shaft length to match the C4.

Thats what I thought but thought I would check. The drive line length has to be changed anyways because I have set the motor back 8", but I guess I will have to change the slip yoke.

Will the bell housing I have for the fmx going to work with the C4?

Thanks for your help.

C4 has its own bell and must be matched to the flywheel...
