Ford C4 Rebuild-Can I do it?

Hello Folks,
I am restoring my 67 mustang (289 / C4 ) and thinking of trying the transmission rebuild myself.

I have rebuilt engines, carbs, etc. and can follow instructions well. So, what do you think? Can I do the transmission myself?

Any detailed books you would recomend to guide me?

Any recomendations for a rebuild kit? What parts do I need specifically that may not come in a kit?

Recomendations for mods (servo, shift kit etc.)? What is the difference in the servo, valve body mod etc.

I am looking for essentially a stock rebeuild with some mild improvement in shifting. Myabe manual shift ability while still maintaing autmatic shift in drive.

Thanks in advance,

Very easy rebuild - nothing electric/electronic. The best guide that I found is the Ford Shop Manual plus I used the TCI rebuild kit which has no instructions but their shift kit which is included does have some for that part of the operation. Take the measurements that the manual says, make sure that you have the input shaft the right direction and the rest is relatively straight forward. You might need a press to assemble the clutch plates in the shell, but you can improvise.

I did add the TCI high performance servo as well for another $80 or so from Summit.
