Ford differential identification
Hello everyone, it's been a few years since I posted, but I still visit the site on a regular basis.
My question concerns a Ford rear end I acquired several years ago. I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I was looking for some expert confirmation. The tag reads: WDW-A 9LD 3L00 8 829A I decipher this as an 8" limited slip with 3.00 gears, not sure of the date. I have searched through all the posts I could find, but some charts call the WDW-A a standard 7.75" with 2.73 gears out of a '68 Fairlane/Comet. I haven't torn the unit down to verify size and ratio. Thanks for any input. |

My documentation shows it as a standard 7.75 out of a 66-67 Comet/Fairlane as well. Guess you'll have to open it up to make sure.
